School, Work, and Comics

Wed Sep 9, 2009, 8:49 PM
I'm finally graduating this year. I'm working full time at Dog Services (the begining of August till Labor Day were insanely busy) and I'm taking 2 classes, so I can graduate this December. It's actually a pretty nice schedule, but somehow I find myself staying up later than I should. Oh well.

So what is everyone else up to? Anyone reading any good comics?

Right now I am catching up w/ Invincible, and reading new issues as they come out. I'm also reading Amazing Spider-Man, which has been such a great book this past year, Ultimate Spider-man, which I'm really liking the new direction it seems to be going in after the whole Ultimatum mumbo jumbo. The Mighty Avengers is my 3rd fav. Marvel title, fun story and art, plus it has mostly been avoiding the whole Dark Reign ordeal. I'm still reading the New Avengers but I'm not sure why. I guess b/c it has Spidey in it, and Luke Cage. And Stewart Immonem is drawing it. Big Events and Crises and Wars and Countdowns and Invasions and Reigns have kinda lost their appeal to me. I think comics should be about the characters/teams. They should focus on the characters personal lives so that the big fights and time spent in costume seem that much more personal and exciting. I don't know maybe I've sorta mellowed out a bit or something.
